D2C shipping should be quite automated.
- Weight should be provided on the item catalog which would then flow directly to the shipment and shipping label.
- If an item does not yet exist in our catalog it will be auto created when it is first ordered. Any descriptive detail provided on the order such as weight, color, size, etc will be added to the catalog upon auto creation, flowing to the catalog from the order.
- Carrier name and SCAC should be provided on the order and flow to the shipment and label.
- Shipping Service Level should be provided on the order and flow to the shipment and label.
- Tracking number auto populates upon label creation.
- D2C shipping in PortalApp should require zero data entry!
Every D2C Order should contain carrier and ship method. The following should be passed on the order which will carry to the shipment:
- Carrier Name: ship_info_carrier_code
- SCAC: ship_info.carrier_scac_code
- Shipping Service Level: shipping_service_level
